Research overview

This manuscript focuses on evaluating visual–thermal integration in mixed-reality firefighter training, with situational awareness and decision performance as the central concerns.

Visual–thermal integration for training

How can visual and thermal information support awareness and decisions in a simulated fire?

My role in this research program

Built thermal haptic hardware and developed the FDS data pipeline that connected simulated fire conditions with sensory feedback in XR.

Connection to my broader work

The technical challenge of delivering realistic cues led to questions about simpler devices and the way users interpret feedback.
