Helping investors notice the information they have not considered.

Research question

How can people notice missing evidence in an information-rich decision environment?

Approach

An information-rich interface can still leave important questions unexamined. This project asks how people can recognize the areas they have not yet considered before making an investment decision.

The app makes gaps in investment evidence visible so users can examine what they know, what is missing, and whether they are ready to decide.

This work appears in the CHI 2026 Extended Abstracts as a poster coauthored with Hyeon Jeon.

My contribution

Led app development, user-study design and execution, data analysis, and manuscript writing; first author of the CHI 2026 poster.

This project was part of my research at Future Computing Lab, Sungkyunkwan University, advised by Prof. Sunjae Lee and in collaboration with Dr. Hyeon Jeon at Seoul National University.

Connection to my broader work

This project addresses interpretation before a decision. FacingLoss extends the question to how people make sense of an unfavorable outcome afterward.
